Welcome to my paradise...

It's a title of a famous raggae song in Indonesia. We used to sing it in a small island near from Bali, called Gili's Trawangan. While eating a fresh grilled fish with Tuomma and Milka, we were listening to the orchestra playing again and again this song. That's why we do like remembering the melody each time we're visiting a fantastic island.

Located 150km on the south of Rio de Janeiro, Ilha Grande (big island) look like a small contry with dense jungle, white sand beaches, turquoise sea and high mountains. Morever, the weather is pretty well since we arrived. We gave couchsurfing up and decided to sleep in a hotel for the first time of our trip. It's very confortable.

The first day (on monday) we went by foot to a small beach with palm trees. Though we were thirsty, we were disapointed not finding any fresh coconut to drink. If you are keeping the french attitude in your mind, be sure that you won't be prefectly satisfed anywhere. For instance, in Brazil we don't like :
-the fresh air conditionate inside the night bus
-to choose the less expensive restaurant for earning money
-to put solar protection cream on our skin because its oily
-to take the local bus when drivers and roads are crazy
and so on...

Fortunalty we enjoy everything else like the sun, the sea and the beautiful nature. And, we feel thankful to meet kind Brazilians because they help us everytime and they like talking about their culture.

But we're surprised because it's difficult to communicate in english here. In Asia, we can't read thai or chinese but we always can express what we are looking for. Here, I can count on my fingers how many times I spoke english with someone, even in a sight seeing place. I study spanish everydays because I don't want to travel like this in the whole South America. But you know, I choose german at school so I have to learn everything from the beginning... How long do you think it will take to be able to ask a fresh cup of water without gaz?

  2. Content d'avoir de vos nouvelles et de vous voir sur certaines photos (ce qui ne veut pas dire que je n'aime pas les paysages). L'étranger vous a fait oublié le français, le dépaysement semble parfais!
